About the Artist
For as long as she can remember, Lydia has delighted both in observing art (like this, Paris Street; Rainy Day, by Gustave Caillebotte) and creating it. After winning her first art contest in the 2nd grade, Lydia's appetite for art creation was whetted further, and she hasn't stopped since.
Inspired by her summers growing up on the island of North Haven, ME, the majority of Lydia's works feature the idealistic memories of the same place , which also inspired such artists as Frank Benson and Eric Hopkins. She plans to some day paint something besides boats, but as long as their materialization brings her sunny respite from her surgical studies, they remain ever at the tip of her paintbrush.
Lydia is represented by the Black Hole gallery in Rockland, ME. Unless otherwise stated, all works are oil on canvas.
